| Background | The workshops aim to promote the awareness of school teachers of the needs and approaches to catering for the linguistically gifted students. Various poetic structures, the use of rhyme patterns and poetic devices will be discussed. Participants will be encouraged to develop strategies of guiding students to express creative ideas and construct poems by using poetic devices precisely. Participants will be involved in using models and templates to develop student friendly strategies for writing poems and assisting entrants in the Budding Poets Award. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Objective(s) | After the workshop, the participants should be able to: a) include poetry in the language curriculum and/or programmes with strategic highlights of 3P's, 3R's and OPS; b) revisit and explore the techniques to guide more able English language learners to write and improve works according to ability. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

1. ALL on-line applications should be nominated and approved by the school authority. Prior application is required and walk-ins will NOT be entertained.
2. Applicants please check the enrollment results via their email accounts on the e-services Portal. 3. In case of over-subscription, priority will be given to those school nominees who are responsible for planning/ coordinating school-based gifted development programmes. 4. The Gifted Education Section reserves the right to reject those applications without submitting sufficient data. 5. Special Arrangements for Bad Weather a. Course / Activity for morning session will be cancelled when Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is hoisted or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is issued at or after 6:30 am. b. Course / Activity for afternoon session will be resumed when Typhoon Signal No.8 or above or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is cancelled at or before 11:30 am. Otherwise, Course / Activity for afternoon session will continue to be cancelled. c. Participants will be notified for further arrangement in due course. 6. Car Park Arrangement No car parks will be provided at venue. |
