| Background |
To tie in with the implementation of the Third Strategy on Information Technology in Education, the Depository of Curriculum-based Learning and Teaching Resources developed by the Education Bureau was launched for use by teachers in February 2009. Based on the Subject Curriculum Guides for Hong Kong primary schools, various kinds of electronic teaching resources, either newly developed or sourced from different web sites worldwide, have been uploaded to the Depository for use by teachers. More teaching resources will be uploaded to the Depository in the near future with the aim to facilitate teachers' adoption of different teaching methods to enhance the quality of learning and teaching.
|
| Objective(s) |
This workshop aims to:
- Enhance primary school Mathematics teachers' understanding of the functions and resources provided in the Depository of Curriculum-based Learning and Teaching Resources; and
- Provide teachers with suggestions of using IT and digital resources in learning and teaching of the Dimensions of ‘Shape and Space’ and ‘Data Handling’ in primary school Mathematics.
|
| Programme Description |
- Introduction to the functions and contents of the Depository of Curriculum-based Learning and Teaching Resources;
- Demonstration of the resources in the Depository relevant to the Dimensions of ‘Shape and Space’ and ‘Data Handling’ in Mathematics;
- Sharing of practical experiences by schools participating in trial use of the resources from the Depository;
- Hands-on practices and group work in the Dimensions of ‘Shape and Space’ and ‘Data Handling’, lesson planning and presentation; and
