Background In recent years, the application of artificial intelligence can be found into our daily lives. For example, photo face recognition, voice recognition, and mobile phone Chinese input provide related words in response to user habits, etc. Artificial intelligence is also widely used in different aspects, including military, industrial, production, agriculture, education. Examples include the robot investment consultants used in banks; the artificial intelligence medical assistants used in medical institutions; and the artificial intelligence learning software used in schools.

Mr Jesse Shang Hai-long is the Managing Director(HK) of SenseTime, which is the world’s leading artificial intelligence platform company. In April 2018, SenseTime was involved in developing “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (High School)”, the first textbook on artificial intelligence in the world. SenseTime is carrying out research in local schools to implement artificial intelligence in teaching and establish an education platform to use artificial intelligence technology to assist in the teaching of different subjects.

Professor LEUNG Chi Sing Andrew joined the City University of Hong Kong in 1999. His PhD research focuses on neural networks and artificial intelligence. His current areas of interest include computer graphics, neural networks and machine learning. He is a governing board member of the Asian Pacific Neural Network Assembly (APNNA).

Professor WEI Xiangdong is the Dean of the Faculty of Social Science of Lingnan University. He has arranged Lingnan University to cooperate with Intel Corporation to establish the first “Intel Innovation Intelligent Centre” in Lingnan University, using Intel's hardware and technology to provide artificial intelligence experience activities and training to primary and secondary schools.

Mr. MAN Ho Wai is now the vice-principal in Lok Sin Tong Yu Kan Hing Secondary School. He has been actively promoting IT in education and STEM education. His school is one of the local schools which collaborate with SenseTime to explore on how to infuse artificial intelligence into STEM-related learning and teaching.
Objective(s) 1) Sharing on the latest development and application of Artificial Intelligence;
