Remarks:  Target Participants: (1) New teachers with teaching experience of 3 years or less; and (2) Teachers who are interested in or responsible for leading/ organising student Mainland exchange activities. 
Background Since 2016, the Education Bureau has been organising professional study tours to Guangdong and Guangxi for new teachers. In addition to providing eye-opening opportunities and raising the awareness of the latest developments in Mainland China, the tours also aim to provide platforms for consolidating and sharing of experiences, conducting of self-reflection as well as building up support networks. As responses to the tours have been very positive, the Bureau will launch a 3-day tour in 2019, the theme being "Exploring Greater Bay Area: Innovation and Technology in Shenzhen and Zhuhai".  
Objective(s) 1. To consolidate and share experience, conduct self-reflection as well as build up teachers’ support network; 2. To widen teachers’ horizons, deepen their understanding of the educational, economic, social and cultural developments in the Mainland, with a view to enhancing their professional competence in areas such as learning and teaching, career guidance and educational leadership.  
Programme Description The programme covers a series of activities including: 1. Visits to enterprises (especially startup companies) to allow participants understand how the Shenzhen and Zhuhai governments facilitate technological advancement and help young people start their business; 2. Reflection and discussion on the experiences acquired from the visits; 3. Thematic seminars on “Greater Bay Area”; and 4. Cultural visits.

2. Applicants must read carefully the “Annex” attached to this course to further understand the requirements of this programme. (Note: The “Annex” is available in Chinese version only).
3. The application deadline for non-government school teachers has been extended to 6 November 2019, while the closing date for recommending/approving officer is 8 November 2019. For teacher(s) of government schools, the application deadline remains the same: 30 October 2019 and 1 November 2019 for application and for recommendation / approval respectively
